My Fellow Americans
Puerto Rico
Puerto Rico Mio
The point of inspiration for this project is the photography of Jack Delano. Delano created two major collections of images in Puerto Rico 40 years apart, in the 1940's and the 1980's. A selection of these images was published in his book Puerto Rico Mio. It is now 40 years since his last installment and much has happened. Over 100 years has now passed since Puerto Rico became part of the United States of America and it's people American citizens.
This project is my humble attempt to continue Jack Delano's work and documentation of Puerto Rico. Like Jack Delano and the Farm Security Administration photographers of the 1940’s the goal of this project is to introduce America to Americans.
Below you will find a selection from this project with Jack Delano's inspiring black and white images above my color photographs.
